Drying Firewood With Your Kiln

A lesser known use for most kilns is drying firewood. While most firewood operators will sell green, or air-dried split Oak firewood (which can take up to a year in inventory time), some forward-thinking firewood processors are using kilns to provide on-demand KD premium firewood. No only do they have green-to-dried wood in a matter of days, but inventory costs are lowered and they are more likely to meet surges in demand.  Customers love kiln dried firewood because it is guaranteed dry, without insects and burns hotter which produces less creosote.
